An NFL Career Ahead? Memo Ochoa Is Really Good At Kicking Field Goals

Mexican goalkeeper Memo Ochoa could have a successful NFL career ahead if one day he decides to quit soccer. Or at least that's the conclusion after seeing a clip where Ochoa shows off his impressive skills kicking field goals.

Currently training alongside Club América in Houston for a friendly game versus Manchester City (Wednesday 8:30 p.m. ET), Ochoa set aside time to practice field goals with former Texans punter Shane Lechler. And the result was astonishing.

With almost no effort, Ochoa was able to convert from 35, 40, 45, 50 and even 55 yards.

"You make it look easy," says Lechler in the video, surprised by Ochoa's skills.

Memo Ochoa tried to go for a 60-yard field goal, but he missed his two attempts: The first was wide and the second one bounced out from the bar.

As a point of reference, the longest field goal ever scored in the NFL is 66 yards long. The honor belongs to Justin Tucker, the Baltimore Ravens punter, in a game vs. the Detroit Lions in September 2021.

So not bad, Memo. Not bad at all.
