John Terry To Leave Chelsea This Summer And Defend Resolutely Somewhere Else

After over two decades of flinging himself at the ball in the blue of Chelsea and winning a lot of trophies, John Terry has announced his decision to leave the club at the end of the season. Terry is synonymous with Chelsea’s rise to English and continental dominance as well providing that bit of assholery that every successful club needs.

JT, as he’s called by those in the know, isn’t done defending yet, though. His high and tight haircut and high socks could be making their way to resolutely defending a club near you.

“The club and I have always had a fantastic relationship, which will continue beyond my playing days,” Terry said in a statement. “We had some really positive talks but with everything taken into careful consideration I have decided it’s the right time for me to leave. I’ve always been conscious that I depart at the right time, in the right way, and I feel that the end of this season is the right time for the club and I.

"I feel I still have plenty to offer on the pitch but understand that opportunities here at Chelsea will be limited for me. I’m eager to carry on playing and so will be looking to continue with a new challenge.”

Terry, 36, could possibly return to West Ham, where he began his youth career. However, it’s difficult to imagine him playing anywhere in the Premier League besides Chelsea. The smart money would be on JT cashing in over in China or on joining old chum Ashley Cole in the California sunshine.

Regardless, he still holds the record for the greatest block ever attempted in the history of football.
