It was supposed to be a normal team photo for Derry City FC, the sixth-place team in the League of Ireland. But it wasn't. In preparation for their upcoming FAI final against St. Patrick's Athletic, the Derry City players sat for a team photo. And then the bench collapsed.
Aaron Barry and Natan Boyle jumped to safety. Manager Peter Hutton, captain Barry Molloy, striker Rory Patterson, midfielder Josh Daniels and defender Patrick McEleney all ended up sitting on the ground. A substitute bench was found and the picture eventually taken, but fortunately a shot of the collapsed bench and the team sprawled everywhere still lives.
We think they should use this one from now on.
