Anderson Knocks Out Teammate With One-Two Punch In Training Brawl

Two years ago, Brazilian midfielder Anderson was at the end of his Manchester United career after being frozen out under manager Louis van Gaal. Oddly, Anderson had managed to stay on the Old Trafford books for over seven seasons without ever particularly impressing. He’s a four-time Premier League champion and winner of the 2007-08 UEFA Champions League with United, but he’s still widely regarded as a flop having arrived from Porto for €30 million in 2007.

He struggled with fitness during his time in England, at times looking clearly overweight when making his rare appearances. This was a man whose lifestyle was slowly destroying an amazing natural gift. A loan move to Fiorentina failed to reignite his career, and Anderson was allowed to return to Brazil to join Internacional on a free transfer in February of 2015.

His time with Internacional has matched his time in Europe. He’s shown flashes of potential, but he’s also struggled with fitness, form and discipline issues.

Anderson’s discipline issues recently came to a head in spectacular fashion at an Internacional training session.

It’s difficult to see how this whole fracas started, but it ends with Anderson knocking out his teammate, William, with a one-two punch combo.

What’s also clear is that many of his teammates seem to want a piece of Anderson after his actions. As a veteran player on the squad, Anderson is now 28, you certainly wouldn’t expect to see him going after a 21-year-old like he does.

However, this is Anderson. There’s almost never been any explanation for his actions and issues on the pitch, but they've plagued him throughout his career. Anderson's contract will likely be terminated by Internacional following this incident.
