2018-19 EPL Fixtures: Our Way Too Early Predictions For The Biggest Games Of The Season

The 2018-19 Premier League fixtures have been released, and boy oh boy has it thrown up some crackers. We’ve scientifically analysed (and by that we mean taken a quick glance at every fixture and formed a baseless prediction) every fixture and come up with the games you absolutely need to watch, along with when they're taking place.

2018-19 Premier League Fixtures: Way Too Early Predictions

ARSENAL VS. MANCHESTER CTIYAugust 11, 2018: A very tasty opening fixture for the season. Unai Emery takes charge of his first-ever Premier League match, while Pep Guardiola looks to get Manchester City off to the perfect start in its quest to defend its title as king of England.

CARDIFF VS. FULHAM | October 20, 2018: The first matchup where two of the newly-promoted teams take each other on. It’s still relatively early in the season, but for both teams trying to stay in the Premier League, it could turn out to be a critical match come the end of the season.

MANCHESTER CITY VS. MANCHESTER UNITED | November 10, 2018: The Manchester derby always brings plenty of fireworks. Jose Mourinho will be looking to get one over his arch nemesis, and you can bet that both sides will be around the top of the table at this point of the season.

ARSENAL VS. TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR | December 1, 2018: Yes, it’s a derby. But it's also now the period when fixtures start to come thick and fast with the FA Cup happening. A fiery fixture for both sides indeed, and a very interesting start for both sides before the holiday fixtures. It could be a match that sets the momentum for the respective teams for the next month or so.

EVERTON VS. WATFORD | December 8, 2018: Marco Silva was manager of Watford at the start of last season, and when Ronald Koeman was sacked by Everton, Silva was meant to replace the Dutchman. It never eventuated, Watford’s form dropped significantly and Silva was subsequently sacked by the Hornets. He now has the job he wanted, and he will no doubt want to get the three points against his former club.

EVERTON VS. LIVERPOOL | March 2, 2019: Merseyside Derby. Just over two months left in the season. This game could be one that decides the season for both clubs, with Everton wanting to consolidate a top 10 position while Liverpool would ideally like to be challenging for the Premier League title.

MANCHESTER UNITED VS. CARDIFF CITY | May 12, 2019: Hear us out on this one. Manchester United will likely be challenging for the title or a Champions League spot, while Cardiff could be fighting for their lives to stay in the Premier League. This could be a last-day matchup that has huge implications.
