How Far Will $2.8 Million Get You At Next Summer's World Cup In Russia?

With the FIFA Confederations Cup in full swing, the opening match of the 2018 World Cup in Russia is officially less than a year away.

For fans who are planning on making the trip to cheer on their country, they can expect to spend about $2,500 on travel, lodging, tickets, food and other miscellaneous expenses for a week-long trip. Although only three teams have officially qualified for Russia 2018 (Brazil, Iran and Russia), it'd be a smart move to start saving up now for fans of nations positioned well in qualifying.

However, there's one deal being offered that requires a bit more than some sound financial planning. That's the Bolshaya Troyka package, also known as "The Big Three," which is selling for a cool $2.8 million. In exchange for that hefty price tag, the buyer receives a luxury suite at all 19 games played in Moscow and St. Petersburg, including the opening match and the final.

There are reportedly only 20 such packages being offered, starting at $1.5 million. The price varies based on the number of tickets attached to the suite and its location in the stadium.

It's likely that these packages will be divied up among oligarchs, sheiks and corporate sponsors, but it's fun to imagine what it would look like if Lionel Messi bought one for some rowdy Argentinian fans.
