Zlatan Says He Didn't Kick Seamus Coleman In The Head On Purpose, But If He Did He Would Have Knocked Him Out

Manchester United's 1-1 draw with Everton Sunday was noteworthy for two things Zlatan Ibrahimovic did.

The one that everyone is focusing on: his kicking Seamus Coleman in the head early in the second half.

Zlatan wasn't punished on the field for the incident, but his comments after the game could cause the FA to take a closer look.

From MUTV:

“It was a physical game. They played hard. I heard one of the commentators say I kicked someone in the head on purpose but it was a 50-50 duel and he pulled me down.

“Trust me, if I want to kick someone in the head, I know how to kick someone in the head and make him fall asleep. That is the only thing I have to say.”

"I didn't kick him in the head on purpose" is exactly what someone who kicked a guy in the head on purpose would say. "I didn't kick him in the head on purpose because if I did I would have knocked him out" is something only Zlatan would say. And because it's something only Zlatan would say, we kind of think he's telling the truth.

(he should still get suspended because you shouldn't kick people in the head, even on accident)

The other noteworthy thing Zlatan did was this:

That is a very extremely Zlatan goal. No footballer scores more strange goals than Zlatan, and no footballer says more strange things than Zlatan.

Let's be honest, the Manchester United player most likely to make someone "fall asleep" is Wayne Rooney, and not because he kicked them in the head.
