Zlatan Has Now Scored In Every Major Debut

After a first half for Manchester United that could be described as "about as anonymous as is possible," Zlatan made good on his track record in major league debuts and scored from 25 yards out. He's now scored in every major league debut: La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1, Champions League...and Premier League.

Here's his long shot at the 64' that managed to slip past Bournemouth keeper Artur Boruc:

Coming into this season, the Red Devils haven't won at Bournemouth since 1957. However, after a summer spending spree that saw Manchester United drop $370 million in signings and pick up both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba, expectations were clear. Fans wanted to see fireworks from Mourinho's men during the league opener.

The first half threatened to disappoint. United created a few chances, but it wasn't until the 40' that Juan Mata managed to score – and it was a lucky goal at that. Bournemouth captain Simon Francis misplaced a pass and Mata sent the ball straight at Boruc, only to see it rebound to his feet. He finished it off the second time. The second half showed more fireworks, with Zlatan and Rooney both scoring. Mourinho – who was subdued throughout the first half – will breathe a sigh of relief that his debut, like Zlatan's, is off to a solid start.
