Fans to attempt "SIU" world record in Times Square for Cristiano Ronaldo's 40th birthday

Ronaldo only turns 40 once. And it’s worthy of a record-breaking celebration.

On Feb. 5th, 2025, fans around New York will unite to honor the one and only Cristiano Ronaldo by breaking the world record for the most concurrent "Siu" celebrations. Or at least, that’s the plan.

The iconic goal celebration, known for its distinctive jump and shout, is perhaps the most popular sports celebration in the world and fans are now planning to pay tribute to the Portuguese’s 40th birthday by doing his celebration on the day of his birthday.

The event, set to take place at 11 am EST at Times Square in the city of New York, is being organized by a passionate Ronaldo superfan and artist, Sergio Furnari, who has already made waves with his unique preparations. The organizer made the invitation standing beside a wrapped car in the colors of the Portuguese flag and even a Ronaldo statue that he created placed in the trunk bed.

The goal of the Funari is clear: to break the world record for the most people simultaneously performing the "Siu" celebration. Whether you're in Lisbon, Madrid, Manchester or New York, he’s calling on all Ronaldo supporters (and detractors) worldwide to take part.

“We’re going to break the world record of the “Siu” celebration” said Furnari.

Ronaldo's planned event in the Big Apple reminds us of the time when fans stopped their walk through Times Square to witness the No. 7's free kick attempt against Spain in the 2018 World Cup — one of the most iconic goals of his career.

Furnari an artist who is known for their distinguished sculptures and pool art, widely known for his "Lunchtime on a Skyscraper” sculpture, inspired by a photograph of eleven workers eating lunch on a beam during the construction of Rockefeller Center in 1932.
