Brighton demand that lower-tier Croatian copycat club change their crest

A third-tier Croatian club have ruffled the feathers of Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion due to having a VERY similar looking crest. NK Jadran Galeb compete in Croatia and adopted a familiar look for the club’s logo.

The story gets funnier. Allegedly a member of the Croatian club visited the Brighton offices in England and informed them of the similarity between the clubs. The person in question then metaphorically swung for the fences and asked if Brighton would donate to NK Jadran Galeb in the form of equipment.

The plan didn’t pan out as instead Brighton were displeased and are now demanding that the Croatian club change their crest.

Brighton crest Croatia controversy

NK Jadran Galeb reluctantly plan to change their badge in response to Brighton’s request. The Croatian club was formed in 2001 and had gotten away with using Brighton’s logo for some time before it was noticed.

Brighton adopted the current look of the crest in 2011. It’s unclear when NK Jadran Galeb began using the crest too.

Fans online had a good laugh about the incident pretending that the logos were entirely different.
