Olivier Giroud TERMINATES contract with LAFC, set to return to Ligue 1

Los Angeles FC striker Olivier Giroud agreed to terminate his MLS contract and will return home to France to join Lille this summer, ESPN reported Friday.

The 38-year-old former FIFA World Cup champion with France in 2018 is in his second season with LAFC and has six months remaining on his contract.

Miami found its second goal in the first 10 minutes of the second half against Porto goalkeeper Claudio Ramos as Messi scored on the 68th free-kick goal of his illustrious career.

Reports: FIFA slash prices for Inter Miami's Club World Cup opener

Hoping to fill a lot of empty seats, FIFA is reportedly slashing ticket prices for the June 14 Club World Cup opener hosted by Inter Miami.

The Athletic reported Wednesday that "tens of thousands" of seats at the 65,326-capacity Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla., remain unsold for the 8 p.m. ET match between soccer superstar Lionel Messi's MLS club and Egypt's Al-Ahly.

Seattle Sounders players call for 'fair share' of Club World Cup prize money with 'Cash Grab' pre-match shirts

June 2 (Reuters) - Seattle Sounders players called for a bigger slice of the prize money for competing at the Club World Cup this month by wearing T-shirts emblazoned with "Cash Grab" and "Fair Share Now" ahead of a Major League Soccer match on Sunday.

Seattle are set to earn at least $9.55 million for competing at the June 14 to July 13 tournament in the U.S., where the total prize money runs to $1 billion, but under the MLS collective bargaining agreement (CBA) the players' share is capped at $1 million per club.
