U.S. Men's Olympic Soccer Team release 25-man roster for June training camp

The men are ready to take on Paris.

U.S. Men's Olympic Soccer Team head coach, Marko Mitrović, has defined the 25 players called-up to the team’s training camp in June as the team prepares for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. The U.S. will play Japan in their last preparation friendly on Tuesday, June 11 before taking flight to France.

Opposed to the USWNT and women's Olympic tournament, the men's Olympic tournament imposes a roster restriction to players who are 23 years old or younger, with a few exceptions. Every national team is allowed to include three overage players inside the roster, who are typically of great national team experience.

Though, and despite the United States having a great selection of players under this category, Mitrović only confirmed one of the three overage slots in the preliminary roster.

As it had been reported, Mitrović has called up USMNT and Nashville SC defender Walker Zimmerman. Zimmerman (31) has over 40 international caps and was part of the USMNT roster at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, where he appeared in all four matches and started three.

Only 18 players can be named to the final Olympic roster, creating some challenging decisions in the coming month for Mitrović and co. Moreover, two additional overage players might still be added for Olympic duty which could lead up to nine players from the current roster getting cut before the trip to Paris.

Here is the full preliminary roster:
