21-Year-Old Canadian Gold Medalist Leaves PSG For OL Reign

Jordyn Huitema joined OL Reign on Saturday, joining USWNT stars Megan Rapinoe and Rose Lavelle.

The forward officially signed with the Seattle-based team for an undisclosed fee, per league and club policy, and will join the team following her time on international duty.

Huitema, who decided to forgo college and instead went pro immediately, had played for PSG Féminines since 2019 and won the D1 Féminine league title as well as the Coupe De France Féminine during her time at the club. During her last season with the Parisian side, she recorded six goals and two assists in seven Champions League games, as well as an additional two goals and two assists in the domestic league.

OL Reign will be excited to sign a forward of her caliber as it looks to fix its goal-scoring problem. At the time of writing, its seven goals in nine games this season are miles off the pace of any side above them, with the Portland Thorns scoring 21 in the same amount of games. Fortunately, defense has been its saving grace, conceding six goals, the fewest in the league.

If Huitema can add a consistent goal threat that the club has been lacking, OL Reign could be a massive threat toward the end of the season.
