This 90th-Minute Andy Carroll Goal Could Spell Salvation For West Ham

West Ham have really struggled this Premier League season. Back in the summer, it seemed as though the Hammers were getting serious with the signings of Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez and Marko Arnautovic.

However, things have not been as smooth as they expected at London Stadium.

Coming into the final weeks of the season, the Hammers are battling to avoid relegation at the bottom of the table.

As it was, Monday's clash against Stoke City was crucial to determine whether either of the clubs would remain in the Premier League next season. Prior to the game, West Ham had 34 points and were barely above the relegation zone. On the other hand, Stoke were trailing deep at the bottom of the table with only 27 points after 32 games.

Miraculously for Stoke, Peter Crouch scored in the 79th minute after Joe Hart spilled the ball.

It seemed as if Stoke would take the valuable three points home.

Until Andy Carroll came along and scored with an accurate volley.

Carroll had not seen any action since January as he was recovering from an injury.

His goal could be crucial in the fight for survival as it could very well save West Ham and condemn Stoke.
