Even if Pele’s right (he’s not), and Messi only has one leg, one skill and doesn’t head the ball well, this clip from Barcelona’s recent open door training session at the Miniestadi just goes to show that who cares.
The way he lets the keeper’s throw run across his body before deftly applying the cushiony-est of finishes here is subtle but genius. Only Messi’s left foot could accomplish such a task, but the 31-year-old makes it look too easy, and that’s probably why the Brazilian legend has gotten it so damn twisted.
