Ronaldinho Leaves Fluminense

The prodigal son has returned, and then he left again two months later.

Brazilian club Fluminense announced Monday that they had terminated Dinho's contract at his consent, ending his second homecoming.

Not that they will miss him very much, as far as on the field production is concerned. Ronaldinho couldn't manage to score or assist a goal in nine appearances with Fluminense.

The 35-year-old two-time World Player of the Year is now a free agent, and clubs (at least the ones that want to make money) will be scrambling for his services. Fluminense said in the announcement they had reached the business goals they had set for Ronaldinho's tenure, as if to say, "he's gone now, he didn't really do much on the field, but he did sell a lot of shirts."

Well good for them, then. Hopefully Ronaldinho can find a club to stick at. MLS maybe?
