Hector Herrera Reportedly Agrees Personal Terms With Napoli

Mexico international Hector Herrera could be on his way to Napoli, if reports from Calciomercato are to be believed. The midfielder, who currently plays for Porto in the Portuguese Primeira Liga, has reportedly agreed to personal terms with the Vesuviani and the deal currently hinges on whether the two clubs can reach an agreement on price.

Porto are reportedly holding out for €25 million, but Napoli are supposedly only willing to pay €18 million with added bonuses. Despite the haggling in price, the agreement of personal terms seems to suggest that the deal is close to being done.

However, Herrera himself doesn't seem too concerned about the speculation surrounding his future as he prepares with El Tri for the upcoming Copa America.

"Right now, there's nothing more important for me than the Copa [America]," he told TuttoNapoli.net, "The market is a subject that I musn't discuss right now, and it's being dealt with by Porto, where I'm still very happy."

If Herrera does join Napoli, it would be a huge move for the Mexico international, as he would be joining an extremely talented side that very nearly beat Juventus to the Scudetto last year, only to collapse dramatically at the end.

It would not only represent a spectacular opportunity for Herrera to grow as a player, but it could also bring Napoli to the next level. The prospect of Herrera lining up with the likes of Marek Hamsik and Allan in a midfield three is a tantalizing one.

It seems like this is a done deal, but we likely won't know for sure until the Copa America is over. Either way, Napoli's interest represents an exciting time for Hector Herrera and indeed El Tri.
