The stakes don’t get much higher. Sure, it’s no World Cup match — it’s not even a qualifier — but it meaningful; a chance to win a critical tune-up opportunity ahead of Russia 2018. But none of that really matters when compared to this fathers outright, uncontainable tears of joy.
He’s asking us to look. We wouldn’t look anywhere else if we could.
I am an unabashed USA supporter, but should Mexico win I am not going to take it too harshly because I know somewhere in that crowd I am watching on TV there is a father that just had the night of his life. That’s worth more than a tune-up any day of the year.
