The Funniest Moments Of The World Cup

By this time, unless you’re a Germany fan, you have probably gotten over the fact that your nation didn’t win the World Cup. But to put an even better taste in your mouth following the World Cup, let's look at the funniest moments and bloopers from the tournament.

Making his first of two appearances in our World Cup funniest moments is Argentina manager Alejandro Sabella. Following a point blank crossbar shot by Gonzalo Higuain against Belgium in the quarterfinals. His reaction was priceless.

Jeremy Schapp was the USMNT insider during the World Cup. Schaap is a true pro in the journalism field, and we all thought the ESPN anchor kept his cool in Manaus as these cicadas sat on his microphone and shoulder during a segment with Mike Tirico.

Unfortunately Schapp’s true journalistic values shined through and he let everyone in on the truth.

There have been some pretty famous handshake snubs. Phil Jackson's and Tom Brady’s come to mind to name a few. But alongside Iker Casillas, this ref may have experienced the worst snub of all-time. But boy was his recovery clean and he handled it like a champ with all smiles.

In their first World Cup match against Italy, England was down 2-1 and needed some magic with 15 minutes remaining on the clock. England earned a corner and what Wayne Rooney did next was sadly typical for England at a World Cup.

Trading jerseys following a match is one of the best traditions in futbol. Following Croatia’s beat down of Cameroon, Sevilla teammates Ivan Rakitic and Stéphane Mbia decided to go the whole nine yards though, stripping down in the tunnel and exchanging shorts. Nothing like two men trading shorts following a match.

During the 2010 World Cup and the 2012 Euro Cup, Germany manager Joachim Löw was seen multiple times picking his nose. We don’t know if he isn’t aware that everyone knows he has a nose-picking problem, but now he took it to the next level. Gotta feel bad for Cristiano on this one (but not too bad).

We’ll round up the funniest World Cup moments how we began it. Alejandro Sabella is simply trying to instruct forward Ezequiel Lavezzi, but the Paris Saint-Germaine man accidentally squirted his manager during a water break. Round of applause to Sabella who wasn’t even phased by the incident.
