Falcao To Chelsea Could Form A Dream Colombian Partnership

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has announced his interest in signing Colombian striker Radamel Falcao from parent club AS Monaco even after his rough season in Manchester. His quick rise to fame began in Portugal and led him to Madrid and Monaco before striking the interest of the Premier League. However, during his loan spell with Manchester United he struggled to score in 33 total appearances even when dropping down to the U21 team for a one-off match.

The Colombian could pack his bags again and head for the South of England to join the Chelsea squad. Mourinho wants to rejuvenate Falcao to make him the world class striker he was for Atletico Madrid scoring over thirty goals in a single season. On top of that, pairing him with his former Atletico Madrid teammate, Chelsea could be even deadlier up top after suffering multiple seasons of absent strikers.

With Dider Drogba retiring after his last title winning season with Chelsea, Mourinho needs a replacement for the Ivorian legend. Despite critics and United fans remarks on how Falcao will never be able to return to his form from a couple years ago, Mourinho believes he will be able to make him a 20 goal per season striker. The Portuguese manager created Dider Drogba into the legendary striker Stamford Bridge loves during his first spell at the club.

“If I can help Falcao reach his level again, I will do it. It hurts me that people in England think the the real Falcao is the one we saw at Manchester United,” Mourinho told South American TV

Falcao is even willing to take a massive pay cut in his weekly wages to join Chelsea, recover from his horrific season in Manchester, and return to full health from his injury that left him out of the 2014 World Cup team for Colombia. His fellow Colombian teammate Juan Cuadrado, who joined Chelsea in January, has announced he will stay in London despite not being favored to start in a majority of matches.

The Colombian partnership, should Falcao join Chelsea in the summer, could be the next key Mourinho needs to maintain his title winning team and go on to win it a second year in a row.
