What Actually Happened After This Drone Incident (VIDEO)

Earlier this week, we posted about the fiasco that occurred between Albania and Serbia in a Euro qualification match that unfolded like a bad drama on TNT.

During the match, a drone carrying an Albanian flag flew  into the stadium. The video we posted with this original story mostly showed the drone in action and a little bit of the scuffle that ensued following the disruption.

Now we found some video of what actually occurred on the field, showing the fight and random Serbian fans invading the pitch, getting physical with Albanian players.

Both federations have been subject to disciplinary proceedings from UEFA. The Football Association of Serbia will be investigated for setting off and throwing fireworks, crowd disturbance, field invasion, insufficient organization, and the use of laser pointers.

The Football Association of Albania will have proceedings against them for refusing to play and display of an illicit banner. The sanction for refusing to play just seems silly in the aftermath, because the game really should have commenced.

All of this drama stems from political issues that have long been going on in the Balkans. Albania has 8 Kosovar players on their team (4 starters) and Kosovo is a country in the Balkans that used to be apart of Serbia, but gained independence in 2008. Back in 1999, a 78-day air war was launched by NATO to stop Serbian forces from killing Albanians in Kosovo. Kovoso’s independence is recognized by many countries, but not in Serbia. Both Serbian and Albanian governments didn’t want any violence and security before the game was tight.

There is no time table for if or when the match will resume.
