We all know what it’s like to be pigeonholed as “the soccer fan” come the holidays. Distant relatives are sure to send soccer ball keychains, books fished out of the Barnes & Noble bargain bin and other soccer themed knickknacks that are an obvious sign of last minute shopping. So long as the idea of soccer is somewhere within the gift, you’ll be satisfied. Right?...right?
Well, one man in England took this soccer themed gift giving to the extreme for Christmas by gifting his girlfriend a pair of goalkeeper gloves for Christmas, “because she’s a keeper”. Luckily for him, the tweet has only been shared over 25,000 times.

There's no way this gift was sitting under the Christmas tree for more than 24 hours, allowing the gift giver the time to genuinely reflect on the basic questions: "Is this really such a good idea? Could I possibly think of something better?"
Regardless, it's almost certain that she got in some keeper punching practice shortly after this photo was taken.
If you feel your significant other doesn't appreciate the gift you bestowed upon them very much, make sure to show them this. This will put your holidays in a positive perspective and probably strengthen your relationship.
I'd like to think that next year she can return the favor. Personally, I'd be in favor of seeing her give him a red card or some vanishing spray. Or a boot up the ass.
