This week saw the return of the fan-favorite Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup with teams from the USL League One/Two, NISA and MLS Next Pro competing in the first round of the tournament.
The USWNT will be facing against CONMEBOL’s Colombia in the W Gold Cup quarterfinals on Sunday.
After finishing the group stage in second place following their shocking 2-0 loss against México on Monday, the USWNT’s qualification to the knockout stage will have them face off against Colombia, one of the most promising young squads in the world.
Concacaf players had a fantastic end to their years in Europe and their remarkable performances on the pitch, both for their clubs and national team, have started to reflect in their most recent market value updates. Especially the Americans.
The year is coming to an end and while the club seasons around the world are far from over, many Concacaf players’ stand-out ‘end-of-year grades’ have been determined by what they did at the end of the last 2022/23 campaign and the start of the current one.
After the latest international break and their victory against Trinidad and Tobago in the Concacaf Nations League quarterfinals, the USMNT sealed their qualification for next year’s hosting of the 2024 Copa América. Eight years later, once again.

One of the most exciting tournaments in the world is returning to the United States.
The Copa America will be back in the United States and will — like in the Copa America Centenario in 2016 — feature six guest nations from Concacaf but now as part of the federation’s “strategic collaboration agreement to strengthen and develop football in both regions” with CONMEBOL that was announced earlier this summer.
The collaboration also includes the Concacaf Women's Gold Cup and a new club competition.

¿Se acuerdan de aquellos días en que decíamos – medios y aficionados – que Jesús Gallardo era un becado del Tata Martino y que debía agarrar sus maletas para nunca más volver a la Selección Mexicana?
Qué equivocados estábamos.
De un tiempo a esta parte – y lo siento por los fans de Gerardo Arteaga –, el bueno de Jesús ha demostrado que es uno de los jugadores imprescindibles en El Tri. Gallardo fue uno de los pocos rescatables en el desastre que significó el Mundial de Catar y ahora en la Copa Oro 2023 podemos decir que está en llamas.
Henry Martín abrió el marcador en la victoria 3-0 de México frente a Jamaica, facilitando en gran parte el paso del Tri a la gran final de la Copa Oro.
