In the 17th minute of Real Salt Lake’s match against Atlas on Thursday night, defender Aaron Herrera let fly from 70 yards out and spectacularly scored without the ball bouncing once.

A fabulous surge of goals from Fulham shocked Nottingham Forest 3-2 at the City Ground on Friday night. Three goals from three different scorers in six minutes is massively impressive, especially considering none were scored by the Cottagers’ top scorer Aleksandar Mitrović.

Soccer doesn’t have walk-offs like baseball or other American sports, but Orlando City came about as close as possible against NYCFC on Sunday night. Tesho Akindele’s goal in the 96th minute gave Orlando City a 2-1 win and some much-needed breathing space as the season begins to reach its crescendo.

Walking out, pointing skyward, Paulo Dybala’s return to the Allianz was clearly emotional. After a lap showing love for his old fans, and extra time greeting his former teammates, Dybala and Roma left Turin with a 1-1 draw. 

MANCHESTER — Manchester City's Erling Haaland struck a second half hat trick as the Premier League champions came back from two goals down to beat Crystal Palace 4-2 at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

The Norwegian, who averaged almost a goal per game in the Bundesliga for Borussia Dortmund before his move to City in June, has now scored six times in his opening four league matches for Pep Guardiola's side.

The win moves City to the top of the table, level on 10 points with Brighton & Hove Albion. Palace are 13th with four points from their opening four games.

In a match where Dortmund looked set to steal a result, on a day it was not at its best, Werder Bremen pulled off one of the most remarkable comebacks you will ever see to win 3-2.
