USMNT stars Tim Weah and Weston McKennie rescue Juventus with both Americans scoring

Weston McKennie and Timothy Weah scored both of Juventus’ goals in a 2-2 draw vs. Parma in Serie A on Wednesday. The McKennie and Weah goals saw the latter assisting the first goal and scoring the next.

Americans are thriving in Serie A this season as Juventus’ duo proved key in their comeback draw against Parma. Juve conceded just three minutes into the contest to the shock of the home fans inside Allianz Stadium.

Hope was restored in the 31st minute when Weah swung in a beautiful ball into Parma’s box that McKennie expertly headed in to equalize. It’s not every day you see an American assisting another American to score in Europe’s top five leagues.

McKennie and Weah goals

This was McKennie’s second goal of the season. He’s on a hot streak right now after contributing two assists in Juve’s thrilling 4-4 draw vs. Inter Milan on Sunday.

Weah scored in Sunday’s draw and found the net for a second-straight game Wednesday. Parma had retaken the lead in the 38th minute, however Weah levelled just four minutes into the second half.

What a finish from Weah who got to start for just the third time this season. The USMNT winger continues to impress with Juventus as he seeks to become a regular starter.

Weah was substituted in the 59th minute while McKennie made way in the 71st.

Both players have recently returned from injuries.

Juventus remain the only undefeated team in Serie A with four wins and six draws which puts them fourth in the league.

McKennie and Weah will be looking to catch the eye of new USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino as both players were injured for the October camp. The U.S. will be back in action on Nov. 14 and Nov. 18 in the Concacaf Nations League quarterfinal vs. Jamaica.

McKennie and Weah will play three more games with the Italian club before coming back home for the November international break.
