Champions League Quarterfinals Goals - April 6, 2016

The Champions League Quarterfinals continued today when PSG battled against Manchester City and Real Madrid visited Wolfsburg. The surprise of the evening was Wolfsburg defeating Real Madrid 2 - 0 on a PK from Ricardo Rodriquez in the 18th minute and Maximilian Arnold slotting home a cross from Bruno Henrique 7 minutes later. Manchester City and PSG played to a 2 - 2 tie. Zlatan had a PK saved by Joe Hart in the 14th minute, but made up for it with a goal of his own in the 41st. Kevin de Bruyne for Manchester City scored in the 38th for a brief lead.

Champions League Round of 16, Leg 2 continued today with PSG taking on Chelsea and Benfica matching up against Zenit. For PSG, Adrien Rabiot opened the scoring in the 16th minute increasing their aggregate lead, 3 - 1. Diego Costa scored 11 minutes later to pull Chelsea within one, however Zlatan Ibrahimovic put Chelsea away with a 67th minute goal. PSG advanced on aggregate 4 - 2. Coming into Leg 2, Zenit was down 1 - 0 on aggregate and briefly tied the aggregate at 1 on a Hulk goal in the 69th minute.

Champions League Round of 16 Goals - February 16, 2016

The Champions League is back and produced a number of highlight quality goals. Chelsea traveled to Paris to take on Ligue 1 leading Paris St. Germain, while Benfica hosted Zenit St. Petersburg. 

The goal of the day goes to Edison Cavani and his game winner. El Matador caught the Chelsea defense sleeping as his run left him 1-on-1 with Chelsea keeper, Thibaut Courtois. Angel Di Maria sent a long ball to Cavani who trapped it down and slotted it through the legs of the lengthy Chelsea keeper from a tough angle. Cavani's 78th minute goal will be crucial for the away leg in London.
