United States men’s national team fans drew a sigh of relief on Friday as Bournemouth announced that the Tyler Adams injury will see the defensive midfielder sidelined for two or three months.

The 26-year-old American picked up a knee injury early in Bournemouth’s game against Manchester United on Monday and was forced off the field. USMNT fans feared the worst, as an ACL injury would likely mean Adams would be out for this summer’s home World Cup.

While Adams being injured isn’t good news, the severity of the injury is a small consolation.

Aug. 18 (Reuters) - Joy turned to pain in an instant for Nottingham Forest goalkeeping coach Rui Barbosa, whose celebration of Chris Wood's opener against Brentford ended with six stitches and a dizzy spell for him in their first Premier League game of the new season.

Wood's fifth-minute goal, poked home following a corner, sparked jubilant scenes in the Forest dugout at the City Ground. However, Barbosa's enthusiasm turned painful when he smacked his head on the dugout during the celebrations.

Liverpool fan who allegedly racially abused Antoine Semenyo has been arrested

Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo thanked his teammates, Liverpool, match officials and the "entire football family" for their support after the Ghana international reported racist abuse during Friday's Premier League season opener at Anfield.
