Fan Reaction To Ronaldo’s Covid-19 Surprisingly Rational

LISBON — Football fans in Lisbon were unsurprised after Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo tested positive COVID-19, saying it simply showed everyone was at risk of getting infected — and famous athletes were no exception.

Portugal's Football Federation said in a statement on Tuesday the 35-year-old Juventus forward was asymptomatic and would miss Wednesday's UEFA Nations League game against Sweden as he self-isolates.

In Portugal's capital Lisbon, not too far from the football facility where Ronaldo is, fans were not shocked by the news.

Juventus’ American Backbone Tests Positive For Covid-19

Serie A champions Juventus have sent their squad into isolation after midfielder Weston McKennie tested positive for COVID-19, the Turin club said in a statement on Wednesday.

However, Juventus, who made the announcement after forward Cristiano Ronaldo tested positive while with the Portugal national team, made it clear that training and matches would continue as normal for players who continue to test negative.

Jason Sudeikis, of SNL fame, played an American football coach hired to manage Tottenham Hotspurs. The parody was great, Sudeikis was hilarious and it promoted NBC’s soccer coverage before everything turned into a competition to see how much money the broadcaster to make off Peacock.
