Carli Lloyd explains her refusal to kneel during Olympics and says Megan Rapinoe was a distraction

Former United States women’s national team captain Carli Lloyd was a guest on the new CBS show “Kickin’ It” with Kate Abdo, Clint Dempsey, Mo Edu and Charlie Davies. During the episode Lloyd shared why she refused to kneel at the Olympics and conversations she had with Megan Rapinoe back in 2016.

The cast of the show also had a short moment to discuss their reactions to Lloyd’s answers after she had left.

Two of the big questions that Abdo asked Lloyd were why she refused to take a knee before the bronze medal game vs. Australia and the feelings between her and Rapinoe.

USWNT stars feature in FOX’s new Women’s World Cup commercial ‘USA vs The World’

The 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia/New Zealand is right around the corner kicking off on July 20. The United States women’s national team’s opener vs. Vietnam is on Friday, July 21 at 10 p.m. ET.

FOX will be broadcasting the tournament and released a one minute and 25 second ad on Friday that features several USWNT players and their biggest opponents trying to stop them.

The humorous video shows fans from other top countries at the World Cup like England, Brazil, Germany and more devising comedic plans to end the U.S. Women's dominant run in the World Cup.

Carli Lloyd Joins New Reality TV Show On FOX

Carli Lloyd is coming back to TV but not as a soccer star nor as a match commentator or studio analyst. The USWNT legend is joining a new reality TV show on FOX called “Special Forces: The Ultimate Test.”

Special Forces will see 16 celebrities take part in physical challenges that are part of actual special forces selection processes, according to the Hollywood Reporter after FOX announced the series on Wednesday.
