United States men’s national team fans were thrilled to see that Gio Reyna was given his first start with Nottingham Forest on Saturday for their 2-2 draw vs. Wolves. The American took advantage of the opportunity with a solid outing and supplied an assist.

Saturday’s start with Forest was just his third for a club all season (he’d been given two starts with Borussia Dortmund prior to his winter loan move). The last time Reyna found himself in a starting XI at the club level was Nov. 1 in the DFB-Pokal vs. Hoffenheim.

Chelsea and United States women’s national team forward Catarina Macario returned from an ACL injury this month and has already bagged two goals and an assist for her club.

Macario, who had been out injured since summer 2022, made her long-awaited Chelsea debut on March 3 in the FA Women’s Super League, scoring a late goal. She then found the back of the net again with the winner vs. Everton on March 10.

On Tuesday she provided her first assist for her new club as Chelsea defeated Ajax 3-0 in the Women’s Champions League.

Christian Pulisic opened the scoring in AC Milan’s 3-1 victory against Slavia Praha in the Europa League Round of 16 on Thursday. Milan advanced to the quarterfinals 7-3 on aggregate with Pulisic scoring two of the goals in the tie.

The Pulisic goal vs Slavia Praha on Thursday came in the first half when Rafael Leão found the American open near top of the box. Pulisic was composed, evaded a defender and tucked away the finish into the bottom corner.

Weston McKennie is in some of the best form of his career as the USMNT and Juventus midfielder has lit up Serie A this season.

He’s arguably been the best player for Juventus in the 2023-24 campaign and one of the top midfielders in the Italian league. One McKennie statistic raised eyebrows among fans.

If you’ve already seen the Christian Pulisic goal from Thursday’s Europa League game between AC Milan and Slavia Praha, then you know we’re being sarcastic with our headline. 

Pulisic scored Milan’s fourth goal in a 4-2 victory at San Siro, but we’ll admit he may or may not have stolen a goal from Rafael Leão.

In the 85th minute Pulisic was involved in the build-up of what turned out to be a dazzling run and clever finish from Leão. Pulisic then helped it over the line at the last moment.

There were questions being raised as to who would start as the USWNT No. 9 after the shocking 2-0 loss to Mexico. Morgan, who was on the bench to start the Mexico game, was given the start vs. Colombia.

She was electric in a renaissance performance for the 34-year-old.

Inter Miami produced a result many fans have come to expect given their star power as the Herons cruised to a 5-0 victory at DRV PNK stadium vs. rival Orlando City. Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez both scored braces.

The expectations for Suárez are high after scoring 26 goals and adding 17 assists last season for Gremio in Brazil. He’d been receiving criticism lately for his slow mobility and lack of goals since joining Miami. 

LUTON — Erling Haaland roared back to his best form with a five-goal salvo as Manchester City thumped Luton Town 6-2 at Kenilworth Road to reach the quarter-finals of the FA Cup on Tuesday.

Luton had no answer to the marauding Norwegian who bagged his eighth City hat-trick before halftime and then scored twice more after the break to kill off a stirring Luton revival.

The 23-year-old Haaland's first four goals were all created by Kevin De Bruyne. Mateo Kovacic also got on the scoresheet for holders City who are unbeaten in 18 games in all competitions.
