SEVILLE, Spain, April 27 (Reuters) - Real Madrid defender Antonio Rüdiger has apologized for his behavior in the 3-2 extra-time loss to Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final on Saturday when he was shown a straight red after he erupted in fury and threw an object at the referee.

The incident occurred when the official called a foul for a challenge by forward Kylian Mbappé on defender Eric García, denying Real a final chance to find an equalizer moments after Barcelona's Jules Kounde scored the winner in the 116th minute.

Former FC Cincinnati forward Aaron Boupendza dies after falling from building

Former FC Cincinnati forward Aaron Boupendza died following a fall from the 11th floor of a building in China, the Gabonese Football Federation announced Wednesday. He was 28.

Boupendza, a Gabon international who joined Zhejiang FC of the Chinese Super League earlier this year, played in parts of two seasons with FC Cincinnati.
