USWNT Winning But Not Impressive Enough For Some

While some of you were watching the Golden State Warriors win an NBA title last night, the USWNT won their match against Nigeria 1-0 on Abby Wambach's goal.

Wambach's goal sent the US quietly into the round of 16. I say quietly because although the US has done what they were suppose to do, some are worried that their victories haven't been impressive enough.

“I know Abby, I know big moments, I know she’ll deliver,” Ellis said.

Some soccer writers are even questioning whether or not Jill Ellis' team has improved under her leadership.

But aren't they missing the point of all of this which is, the USWNT is still undefeated and continues to win.

No, they aren't walking over their opponents with 3-0 or 4-0 victories, but we tend to forget that the teams they are facing are the best in the world; it was never going to be a cakewalk.

Also, these critics tend to forget that the US had one of the toughest draws in the World Cup and have made it through their group.

That's a huge accomplishment. They did that despite the controversy surrounding Hope Solo and injuries.

To basically brush off the USWNT moving on to the round of 16 as anything less than an accomplishment, is insane.
