Dynamo Keeper Makes Amazing Quadruple Save On PK

You’ve seen it before: Goalkeeper makes a great save on a PK, pops up and saves the rebound. But this Dynamo save is something different; Houston keeper Chris Seitz made four saves in about five seconds in a preseason friendly against Phoenix Rising FC on Wednesday.

In the closing minutes of the first half, Houston was whistled for a handball in the box, giving Phoenix midfielder Jason Johnson the chance to equalize. Johnson had his first attempt saved to Seitz’s right then volleyed the rebound to Seitz’s left, which the keeper also saved. The second save caromed off the post, which forced a third save from Seitz. But even this block bounced off a teammate, forcing a fourth save off the line before Seitz’s teammates finally booted the ball clear.

If this Dynamo save happened to you in FIFA, you’re throwing your controller out the window, finding a hammer, smashing your PlayStation, gathering the chunks, throwing them into a blender, running it on high for five minutes, removing the tiny bits and feeding them to a bunch of pigs.

Houston won the match 1-0 thanks to a goal from Arturo Alvarez and some weird preseason rules. Charlie Ward (not the Heisman Trophy winner) was given a red card after a VAR review, but the Dynamo were allowed to replace him.

Houston will play New England in the championship of the Mobile Mini Sun Cup, a relatively meaningless string of preseason exhibitions. The Dynamo beat New York Red Bulls 5-0 and drew Portland 1-1 while the Revs beat Sporting KC and drew FC Dallas and San Antonio FC.
