How fast is Sadio Mané? The Senegalese winger has harnessed his blistering pace to increasingly devastating levels while rising from France’s third division in 2012 to the heights of the Champions League final with Liverpool in 2018. His talent since arriving in England from Red Bull Salzburg has always been evident, and he was a favorite of then Southampton manager Ronald Koeman. “I can’t see any players in the league who have the same speed as Sadio,” said Koeman. “I have always asked him to use that speed and use that movement, and the rest of the players know that is his quality.”
How Fast Is Sadio Mané?
While FIFA 18 has Salah ranked 13th on the planet with regards to pace (he’s got a 93 rating in that category), the soft-spoken and humble footballer believes that he’s not even the fastest player on his club side, an accolade he reserves for Mohamed Salah.
And the numbers do back that up. Back in 2016-17, Sane recorded a top speed of 34.75 kph. Last season (2017-18), he bettered that mark by reaching a speed of 34.84 kph (21.65 mph). That was the 18th fastest top speed in England’s top division.
According to teammate Joe Gomez, Salah is probably the faster sprinter over a longer distance, but Mane’s explosiveness remains unmatched: “The thing is,” says Gomez, “Sadio over three or four yards — when he stops it, shifts it and goes — you can’t stop him.”

This sentiment was echoed by former Liverpool teammate Philippe Coutinho, who said: “It’s been very good playing with Sadio so far, but if anything he’s too fast. That’s good because you need this in your game. Everyone is very happy with him — he is a nice guy and very good player.”
After experiencing a bit of a funk domestically last season — which contributed to a final Premier League haul of 10 goals in 29 games — Sane appears back to his consistent best alongside Salah and Roberto Firmino in Liverpool’s attack.
