An Antonee Robinson injury is the last news that United States men’s national team fans wanted to hear ahead of the Concacaf Nations League semifinal on Thursday vs. Panama. Robinson is one of three U.S. players named to the initial roster that will be unavailable.
Johnny Cardoso and Auston Trusty will also miss the Nations League final four due to injury.

Robinson's injury and its severity haven’t been announced. Robinson was healthy when he left Fulham, playing the full 90 minutes against Tottenham on March 16.
The loss of Robinson is the most concerning of the three as the Fulham left back has been having one of the best seasons out of any American player in Europe. Robinson is arguably one of the best fullbacks in the Premier League and in contention with Christian Pulisic as the best U.S. player.
How head coach Mauricio Pochettino tries to fill the void left behind will be interesting to see. He could shift Joe Scally from right back to left back and then plug in Marlon Fossey in Scally’s place.
Pochettino brought in Max Arfsten as Robinson’s replacement on the roster with the 23-year-old making his first two USMNT appearances during the January camp. The Nations League final four will be a big jump for Arfsten who has played a more forward role for the Columbus Crew this season.
Johnny and Trusty missing out are also brutal blows for the U.S. as Pochettino brought in more MLS talent to replace them in Brian Gutiérrez and Jack McGlynn.
The semifinal vs. Panama is set for 7 p.m. ET on Thursday at SoFi Stadium.
