Slide Tackle

Slide tackling is an aggressive and risky way to stop an offensive player. Sometimes it is the only option you have as a defender and it should be used as a last resort move to stop the attacker. First try to slide into the tackle at an angle, and remember you need to make full contact with the ball or it’s a foul. Poke the ball away using your inside leg and the outside of your foot. You can be a hero with a perfect slide tackle just as easily as being the scape goat with a poor tackle. Just ask Sergio Ramos, he has been on both sides of the fence.
