U.S. men’s national team star Weston McKennie is having yet another remarkable season with Juventus, scoring his fourth goal of the season for the Serie A giants in their battle to climb up the league table.

The American, who started the game as a left-back (when his original position is that of a central and attacking midfielder) had no issues accommodating to the change — finding his inner-striker spirit to connect a ball from a corner kick to hand Juventus the opener against Monza. McKennie found the ball inside the six-yard box and put the ball away with an efficient volley.

The 26-year-old midfielder has slowly made himself a spot back into Thiago Motta’s recurring starting XI rotation despite ‘not being a part of plans’ at the beginning of the season, with the USMNT star now becoming a multi-position player under the Italian manager thus far in the season.
This is only the second time McKennie has been used on the left-flank by Motta in the season, with the Texas-born being placed in the back line in Juventus’ 4-0 win against Cagliari in the Coppa Italia.
