Manuel Neuer Ruled Out Until January With Foot Injury

Bayern Munich will be without the best goalkeeper in the world until at least January 2018 after Manuel Neuer underwent surgery for a broken foot earlier this week.

This injury shouldn't negatively impact Bayern's season too much, as long as Neuer is back in time for the Champions League knockout stage, as they should still run riot in the Bundesliga and comfortably advance from the Champions League group stage.

"Manuel Neuer has sustained another injury and we're incredibly sorry for him. The operation went perfectly, whch is the most important thing for now. We and our captain are now looking to the future. Manuel will be back to his previous best and available to us again in January,“ said Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in a club statement.

Bayern Munich will have to rely on Neuer's backup, Sven Ulreich, who is no slouch. He's just not the best goalkeeper in the world.
