Who Won The Weekend? The 5 Best Performances.

Including Landon Donovan and, of course, Poland.

This weekend was filled with drama and good soccer, and these five performances stood out.

#5 - Giorgio Chiellini:

The Italian defender scored a hat-trick of sorts in Italy’s Euro qualifier against Azerbaijan Friday, contributing two goals for Italy and an own-goal.

#4 - Diego Tardelli:

Tardelli scored both goals for Brazil in their win over Argentina, a game that helped prove Brazil is still a force to be reckoned with.

#3 - Poland:

Poland is not technically a person but we’re bending the rules here a bit because of the significance of what they did. Poland beat Germany Saturday for the first time ever, 2-0. It was a game they will not soon forget.

#2 - Robbie Keane:

The 34-year-old striker used his time away from the L.A. Galaxy productively, scoring a first-half hat trick in Ireland’s 7-0 win over Gibraltar. His was the fastest hat-trick scored in Euro tournament history.

#1 - Landon Donovan:

Duh.
