Marco Fabian Could Make His Bundesliga Debut This Sunday

Chicharito has been lighting the Bundesliga up this season, which paved the way for his national team teammate Marco Fabian to transfer from Chivas Guadalajara to Eintracht Frankfurt. But will Fabian be as successful as the Little Pea? We may get our first indication Sunday.

Frankfurt take on Wolfsburg Sunday at 9:30 a.m. EST.

Of course, it would be irresponsible to say that Fabian will be as successful as Chicharito in the Bundesliga. Chicharito is either the best or second-best Mexican player, depending on how you feel about Andres Guardado, and Fabian has a history of not being in the kind of shape a professional soccer player should be in. He is very skilled though, and could have success in Germany.

Fabian, 26, came up through the Chivas youth academy and scored 49 goals in 194 senior appearances with the club from 2008-2015. He also has six goals in 25 games for Mexico's senior national team.

Fabian's arrival in Germany followed that of Chicharito, who has 19 goals in 22 games for Bayer Leverkusen and is generally lighting the world on fire there. He's done so well that other Bundesliga teams have started giving more attention to Mexican players, leading to Fabian's arrival.

Wolfsburg are seventh in the Bundesliga table with 26 points, three back from Borussia Monchengladbach for a Champions League place. Eintracht Frankfurt are 17th with 17 points, two points up from the relegation zone. So they might really need Fabian's help here.

Fabian's old club, Chivas, sit 13th in the shiny new Clausura with two points. Chivas will look to use the Clausura to bounce back from a disappointing 2015 Apertura. Marco Fabian could probably help with that.
