The American midfielder had nothing short of a bittersweet start to her weekend.
Korbin Albert topped off her more-than-busy Thursday scoring an insane long-range goal in Paris Saint-Germain’s quarterfinal UEFA Women’s Champions League knockout tie.
The USWNT midfielder received the ball on the outskirts of the 18-yard box and hit an absolute bullet with her weak foot against BK Häcken to seal PSG’s qualification to the semi finals of the European tournament.

What a strike from the 2024 W Gold Cup winner.
This is the 20-year-old’s third goal across 34 matches for the French club in the 2023-24 season.

Korbin’s wonderful goal came shortly after the American midfielder received major backlash for sharing anti-LGTBQ+ content on social media, causing a wave of fans to ask for her removal from the U.S. women’s national team.
Former USWNT player and huge LGTBQ+ activist Megan Rapinoe also responded to the Albert drama, indirectly criticizing the player's controversy.
Following PSG’s match at the Parc des Princes, Albert issued an apology and shared it via her stories on Instagram.
