Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal got the job done and defeated Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday to place themselves atop of the Premier League once again.
In perhaps the toughest match for the Gunners in the last stretch of their league season, a sole goal in the opening minutes of the first half turned out enough for Arsenal to steal the three points from the Red Devils at their home, who are after this latest defeat, one step closer to saying goodbye to a qualifying for Europe.
Casemiro error vs. Arsenal
The difference maker came in the 20th minute when Casemiro, following a clearance from André Onana, failed to track back into United’s defensive line and ultimately left Kai Havertz onside on a quick Arsenal counter.
Havertz, taking advantage of his positions towards goal, hit a perfect assist for Leandro Trossard to open the scoring.

This juvenile error from the Brazilian comes just six days after receiving a plethora of criticism following United’s 4-0 loss against Crystal Palace, with Casemiro having multiple errors that lead to their disastrous loss.

Manchester United and Erik ten Hag will now prepare their last two league matches against Newcastle United and Brighton, with their most important match of the season now being their derby clash against Manchester City in the FA Cup Final, with a win meaning a qualification to the Europa League next season.
Arsenal will face Everton next week hoping for a slip-up from the Citizens in their pair of matches against Spurs and West Ham.
