It's time to talk about Djaniny Tavarez. The Santos Laguna winger is absolutely tearing the Clausura apart with 10 goals in just eight games. For reference, Miguel Almiron led the Apertura in scoring with 14 goals in 17 matches. The second-placed scorer so far, Carlos Gonzalez, has six goals.
Djaniny's form hasn't come out of nowhere. The Cape Verde Islands international was a key player when Santos beat Ronaldinho and Queretaro for the 2015 Clausura title.
That said, 10 goals by now is ridiculous. Djaniny only scored four goals in the Apertura.
Also, Djaniny is a very fun name to say. Djaniny, Djaniny, Djaniny.
