Bitter Englishman: EPL Clubs Waste Young Talent

A year and a half ago, Jadon Sancho was worth $10 million. That’s the price Borussia Dortmund paid to take him off Manchester City’s hands before they could loan him to Girona or whatever. Now he’s worth $100 million.

So what happened? Did he happen across a jewel-encrusted treasure chest? Marry Jacqueline Mars, heiress to the Mars candy bar fortune?

No, he was allowed to actually play football, and it turns out the teenager that led England to the final of the U-17 Euros while being named Player of the Tournament is actually pretty good.

It’s great that players like Reiss Nelson, Patrick Roberts and Jonathan Panzo are hungry for first team minutes and going abroad in search of them, but it’s complete nonsense that these players have to leave the EPL to find them.

We’re talking about a generation of players that’s brought about a golden age for England at the youth level, but it’s now being deprived of kicking on at the most important age of a player’s development!

Sean Longstaff is the toast of Newcastle, and he was never mentioned as the future of England’s midfield or even a potential international until injuries forced him into the lineup.

Play. The. Kids.
