I Can’t Stop Watching This Ridiculous Goal From Daichi Kamada And Andre Silva

We’re finally getting back into the swing of watching soccer around the globe as leagues gradually return to action following novel coronavirus pandemic shutdowns. With more and more highlights to watch, we’re actually at a point where it’s easy to miss the best action from a day’s events. Case in point: this Andre Silva goal vs Hertha Berlin on Saturday.

Most of Germany was focused on the matches at the top and bottom of the league, such as Borussia Dortmund’s late win over relegation-threatened Fortuna Düsseldorf, Werder Bremen’s potentially lifesaving win over spiraling Paderborn or Bayern Munich’s victory to inch close to an eighth straight title.

In the middle of the table, Eintracht Frankfurt crushed Hertha Berlin 4-1 to leapfrog the capital side into ninth place. Andre Silva scored twice, but we’re focused on his first strike and the work done by Daichi Kamada to set it up.

Kamada, a 23-year-old Japan international, danced his way around three Hertha defenders before laying the ball off to his Portuguese teammate, who provided a cheeky backheel finish to complement the gorgeous move.

The tight control, flailing defenders and deft finish all combined to make the type of goal I probably couldn’t even replicate in FIFA. I’m just gonna have this on repeat for the rest of the day.

The effort was up there with these strikes from Turkey and this hit from Portugal as the best goal since football returned from its coronavirus hiatus.

We’re so happy to have soccer back.
