DIRECTV is giving you a chance to win a $500 youth sports scholarship

Ingrained as they are in our social fabric, sports are crucial to bringing people and communities together. And this is especially true when we talk about youth sports. Unfortunately, it's not always a level playing field for those athletes trying to break through when the opportunities are not the same for everybody.

DIRECTV knows about these difficulties and hardships, so in partnership with LeagueSide, they decided to be an agent of change in society by offering a series of sports scholarships nationwide.

Win a $500 youth sports scholarship from DIRECTV

In their mission to inspire the next generation of athletes, DIRECTV is offering 20 young players the chance to win one of their $500 youth sports scholarships, which will surely help to cover equipment and registration costs.

The idea of the initiative is to take one concern off the plate and ensure young athletes have the opportunity to build their skills, connect with new communities and participate in youth sports.

It is important to mention that these scholarships are not the only efforts DIRECTV is making to help youth sports. The company's commitment to the cause is broader and visible in a parallel campaign with the USWNT player Sydney Leroux as the protagonist.

Disguised as a soccer bearded-bully coach, World Cup winner and Olympic gold medalist, Leroux is starring in an ad whose goal is to embolden and empower girl athletes.

On top of everything, during 2022, DIRECTV, in partnership with LeagueSide, has sponsored over 850 youth sports leagues across the country, providing crucial financial aid for young athletes.

"Sports are at the heart of DIRECTV's legacy of connecting fans to their favorite teams and leagues," said Vince Torres, Chief Marketing Officer of the company "[These connections] also give us the opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to and our love for sports, celebrating athletes of all ages alongside family and friends in the moments that matter."
