The Russian Cup Devolved Into An On-Field Brawl

Four players were sent off at the end of the Russian Cup Final for punching each other.

Ah, the magic of a cup final! The pageantry! The ceremony! The joy and glory in the beautiful game!

You know, or not.

Russia did not get your memos about childlike wonder and skill. Lokomotiv Moscow and Ural Yekaterinburg are here to beat each other senseless, and if soccer occasionally breaks out well they guess that's fine, as long as it doesn't interfere with the punching.

Both teams finished the match with nine men, and the four red card recipients walked off the pitch chatting like old friends. Lokomotive Moscow won the match 2-0. We will have to wait for the judges to finish tabulating the scores to know who won the fight.
