You haven’t played ball growing up if you never took a ball to the face on a cold day. The stinging sensation that engulf your cheeks and nose is a feeling a steward in England felt Tuesday night when he took a penalty kick directly to the face.

Here's another angle. You can hear me laughing (very high pitched because of a sore throat from singing) at the end and the noise the ball makes off the stewards head. #ytfc pic.twitter.com/vpX7wSzW3e

That man’s head must be made of tungsten. The steward hit in the face got his hat knocked off from the sheer speed on the shot and hardly looked phased. His quick celebration with the fans is the stuff of legends.
The penalty miss was during a shootout between Weymouth and Yeovil Town. The winner would go through to the first round of the FA Cup. The player who missed and beamed our favorite steward was Tom Knowles.
You know it must have been a sloppy penalty kick shootout (or some expert goalkeeping) when the shootout finished with a score of 2-1.
Knowles' kick would have seen his side, Yeovil, through to the next round after Weymouth missed three of its first four penalties. Luckily for Knowles, his side is still managed to win the shootout.
As for the unnamed steward, I hope he his getting some earned rest with an icepack and some ibuprofen.
