What The Future Holds For Chicharito

Javier Hernandez, otherwise known globally as Chicharito, had a tough season last year with Manchester United. He only started six games under former manager David Moyes, even though he had scored around 40 goals in his first three Manchester United seasons. And it would seem that even Chicharito doesn’t know what his future has in store. When asked about his future with Manchester United and in the English Premier League by various reporters, he answered calmly, “I don’t know what’s going to happen, only God knows.”

There seemed to be hope for him when United hired new Dutch manager Louis van Gaal. However, due to the limited time Chicharito has seen on the pitch last season and the fact that he was added late to roster for the United States tour, he was not able to play against the Los Angeles Galaxy. This would have been a great opportunity for his confidence since a large number of the soccer fans in Los Angeles are Hispanic.

Chicharito has been working out for the past weeks in Guadalajara, Mexico after his World Cup exit with the Mexican National team. He said to reporters, “I’m working very hard, I feel good physically.” Chicharito has always been a fun player to watch, and his boyish looks make many fans root for him as “underdog.” However, these boyish looks belie the fact that he is now a 26-year-old who has had over 100 appearances in a Manchester United uniform. There are talks that Chicharito is considering other places such as Inter Milan or Athletico Madrid, but for now he has to fight for his chances and make the most of them.
