Hablaliga MX: Ten Most Disappointing Players

See our Top 10 Liga MX list here.

Hi, I’m Giselle Cesin with The18 and this is Hablaliga MX.

Today, we’re going to talk about the 10 player who disappointed the most during the regular season. Not the worst, the most disappointing. Please do not yet at us in the comments.

1. Silvio Romero (Club América)

Having scored only 3 goals in 15 games, “El Chino” faileds to emerge as a true threat in Club América’s attacking line.

2. Martín Cauteruccio (Cruz Azul)

Cauteruccio started just 5 of 16 games, struggled with injuries and only scored 2 goals.

3. Javier “La Chofis” López (Guadalajara)

He was considered a wonder boy by some Chivas fans but every season he fades out a little more.

4. José Juan “Gallito” Vázquez (Guadalajara)

He was an important piece in Matías Almeyda’s scheme when Chivas became champions last season but later disappeared and will be leaving Chivas.

5. Christian “Chaco” Giménez (Cruz Azul)

Time has its way with everyone and it seems it is finally time for ‘Chaco’ Giménez to think about retirement.

6. Joffre Guerrón (UNAM)

After being named Copa Libertadores most valuable player in 2015, it seemed like Guerrón would be a valuable addition at Pumas. However, this season he played 10 games, only 2 as a starter, and didn’t score a single goal.

7. Cecilio Domínguez (Club América)

Domínguez started off on the right foot with Club América, scoring important goals in crucial moments. However, after a couple injuries Dominguez hasn’t been the same and is less and less relevant as the weeks go by.

8. Mauro Formica (UNAM)

The Argentinean midfielder arrived at Pumas to boost their offensive line. He played 11 games, never scored and provided only one assist.

9. Ismael Sosa (Tigres)

He was the most important player at Pumas before Tigres bought him for a staggering 9 Million dollars. He has since failed to deliver good performances.

10. Matías Alustiza (Atlas)

Alustiza was a reliable goal scorer in the past. However, this season his numbers dropped and he failed to help his team when they needed him the most.

That’s all for this episode of Hablaliga MX. Meanwhile, watch the Liga MX playoffs, a.k.a. the Liguilla. It’s great fun.
